Various outlets are reporting that the 300 is getting the ax (this was hinted at in today’s TMS)
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
With the 200 already slated for death, that leaves Chrysler with a single car, the Pacifica (I think I read they are still making T&Cs, but they are no longer advertising those, and they are clearly on the way out). Obviously you aren’t going to have a one car brand, so does FCA just shutter Chrysler and make the Pacifica the new Caravan or something? Fiat obviously has cars they use to refresh the Chrysler lineup, but they’ve been silent on replacements for the cars they’re axing, let alone adding to Chrysler’s current pathetic three car stable.

FCA isn’t a stranger to having a one car brand, Lancia’s only offering right now is the Ypsilon. That said I doubt that will happen for Chrysler, looks like they are on borrowed time.

Nah, they actually need a brand focused on fuel economy. Fiat is too small, Dodge relies on muscle car branding, Jeep is all off-road, Ram is all trucks and commercial vehicles, Alfa is all performance, and Maserati is all...Maserati. Really the only brand that can move FWD, five-plus passenger, eco-friendly and efficient vehicles is Chrysler. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Chrysler advertisements brag about the fuel economy and safety of the vehicles and the next gen 300 being on the Pacifica’s PHEV-ready platform.
Pretty much if it isn’t being built on the Giorgio platform then it will be a Pacifica platform FWD hybrid vehicle or built by some Chinese company that wants to break into the US market without putting their names on the cars in case they suck.

On its way out, for sure.
Though, I will be the first to say I fucking called it. Sergio the Destroyer is axing the American brands where he can to fund his garbage Italiano schemes.
Fuck him. Fuck Alfa. Fuck FIAT. Fuck all those shit, dead brands which should stay dead.

Marchionne isn’t good at planning brand and model line ups. I could do a better job, but he hasn’t offered me the job. I am sure you could do a better job than Marchionne, too.

At first I thought it was Dodge, until the Hellcats came out. After all, why create a whole new brand for the trucks? I’m glad that Dodge isn’t, but it’s been looking more and more like Chrysler was going for at least 2 years now, and that’s disapointing. Chrysler should be up there with Lincoln and Cadillac, not scraping the bottom with Kia. When Sergio was bringing all these new brands to market, he should have brought back Plymouth. The hell with SRT and Ram, they were fine as trim levels and models. Plymouth could have been rebadged Fiats or whatever, the value brand, like he’s stated he wants Chrysler to be. But Chrysler’s still got some cache, especially with the older crowd, the ones actually buying cars, so it’s not too late to turn it around Serg, but it’s getting close.

They stopped making the T&C but the Grand Caravan is sticking around for 2017. The Chrysler brand should really just go away. FCA can simplify the line up and just make the Pacifica a Grand Caravan replacement . Make Dodge the car company, Jeep the suv company, and Ram the truck company. The Alfa and Maserati cover the luxury segment. Everything is covered!

Also, Fiat was in the US a one-car brand for a while, with the 500... now it’s a four car brand, though.
